- What is a Nutsert | Riv Nut | Rivet Nut | Well Nuts: Finding a fastener that works with thin or brittle materials or where you cant get access from behind can be difficult. This is where nutserts, which are also known as a rivet nut, blind nuts, blind rivet nuts, rivnuts or threaded inserts, come in. A variation on the standard rivet, the rivet nut has a tubular round, splined or smooth body, square, or hexagonal body that is internally threaded and counterbored. As a blind fastener, the nutsert is installed in instances where only one side of the workpiece is accessible, making it incredibly versatile and popular
- Type: Large Flange Rubber Nuts are easy to install, simply drill a hole and slide the rubber nut into the hole with the flanged portion exposed, it important you first drill the right size hole and choose the right rubber nut for the thickness you are gripping. Then slide a machine screw of the correct size into the threading and tighten. As the machine screw or bolt is fastened, the rubber portion will deform and place a large amount of pressure on the bolt hole causing it to seal. They perform well where vibration could be an issue, or if a watertight seal is required. They do not produce electrical conductivity and can act as a buffer to prevent galvanic corrosion.
