- What is a Nutsert | Riv Nut | Rivet Nut: Finding a fastener that works with thin or brittle materials or where you cant get access from behind can be difficult. This is where nutserts, which are also known as a rivet nut, blind nuts, blind rivet nuts, rivnuts or threaded inserts, come in. A variation on the standard rivet, the rivet nut has a tubular round, splined / knurled or smooth body, square, or hexagonal body that is internally threaded and counterbored. As a blind fastener, the nutsert is installed in instances where only one side of the workpiece is accessible, making it incredibly versatile and popular
- Type: Large Flange Nutserts, also known as a Rivet Nut, Riv Nut, Insert nut have a wider head with a thicker flange for high push applications. Splines on the outside of the body are to help reduce rotation during installation.
- Installing: To install, drill the required hole size, install nutsert using a suitable tool. It is important the hole size is correct and is the right length for the thickness you are gripping. Once installed it will provide maximum resistance. Without the right tool nutserts can be extremely difficult to pull up, especially Stainless and Steel Zinc Plated, in our tool section of our website we have a range suitable for most applications and materials
- Material / Coating: Aluminium Nutserts offer low weight and increased corrosion resistance at a fraction of the cost of stainless steel
- Thread Pitch (Metric): is the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, nut or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
- Measurements: Every effort has been made to ensure all measurements on our site are accurate and to the relevant standard, they should only be used as a guide. If you see a problem with our specifications please contact us
- Dimensions: To ensure consistency, all of our nutserts are sourced from the same supplier. Therefore, we get very few differences in head dimensions, grip range, body length and material finish
- Photos: are of the product but may not be the actual diameter, head width, head thickness or body length you may require
