  • What is a Nutsert | Riv Nut | Rivet Nut: Finding a fastener that works with thin or brittle materials or where you cant get access from behind can be difficult. This is where nutserts, which are also known as a rivet nut, blind nuts, blind rivet nuts, rivnuts or threaded inserts, come in. A variation on the standard rivet, the rivet nut has a tubular round, splined or smooth body, square, or hexagonal body that is internally threaded and counterbored. As a blind fastener, the nutsert is installed in instances where only one side of the workpiece is accessible, making it incredibly versatile and popular
  • Type: Countersunk Nutserts (Rivet Nut) have a low profile thin flange head which sits flush on the surface of the material where it is being used.
  • Installing: To install, drill the required hole size, install nutsert using a suitable tool. It is important the hole size is correct and is the right length for the thickness you are gripping. Once installed it will provide maximum resistance
  • Material / Coating: Zinc Plated is the most common fastener plating due to its the low cost and shinny bright silver finish. A thin layer of Zinc is applied by either electroplating or mechanically. It is intended to be used internally. Whilst some people use it externally it isn’t recommended if corrosion is a concern. If you need a fastener that will withstand the outdoor elements or matching another material choose from our range of Aluminium or Stainless steel Nutserts
  • Thread Pitch (Metric): is the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, nut or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
  • Measurements: Every effort has been made to ensure all measurements on our site are accurate and to the relevant standard, they should only be used as a guide. If you see a problem with our specifications please contact us
  • Dimensions: To ensure consistency, all of our nutserts are sourced from the same supplier. Therefore, we get very few differences in head dimensions, grip range, body length and actual material finish
  • Photos: are of the product but may not be the actual diameter, head width, head thickness or body length you may require
