- Drop In Anchors are a versatile medium duty anchor ideal for shallow embedments and should only be used in solid concrete. An expansion wedge inside the anchor is pushed towards the bottom end using a drop in anchor setting tool, producing an expansion force to set the anchor into the concrete. The single piece internally threaded expansion anchor suitable for solid base material.
- Features / Benefits: Simple expansion with hammer blows, shallow embedment depth reduces clashes with reinforcement steel and can be loaded immediately after installation. Can be deep set below concrete surface or set flush. The internal thread is suitable for machined bolts or threaded rod
- Material / Coating: Zinc Yellow plated refers to the colour of the chromate that is applied after zinc has been applied. Yellow chromate increases the overall protection of the finish and is the preferred plating finish for most construction fasteners due to the good level of protection against corrosion. It can be used externally but doesnt offer the same protection as Galvanised or Stainless
- Thread Pitch (Metric): Pitch means the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
- Fastener length: is generally measured from the point where the surface of the material will be when the fastener is installed to the end of the fastener. Thus, fasteners with heads that sit above the surface are measured from under the head to the end of the fastener, while fasteners that sit flush with the surface are measured from the top of the head to the end of the fastener
