  • Saddle Eye Straps are designed to be an anchor point and are easily fasten to any flat timber or steel post, wall or panel for a secure fixing point
  • Benefits / Features: Easy to secure with a countersunk or pan head screw, blind pop rivets or bolts, machine screw screwed into an embedded thread fastener such as a nutsert (metal) or a timber insert (timber). Each size of Eye plate is designed to work with a specific size (range) of wire. They are to be used as attachment points, they do not attach directly to wire rope. Wire rope passed through or around a saddle in a loop, should be ‘protected’ by a thimble. The thimble distributes the load and prevent the wire being pulled through a radius that is tighter/smaller than is recommended
  • Testing and Breaking Load: It is the Purchasers responsibility to determine whether the testing procedure and if provided, the breaking load is suitable for purpose
  • Material / Coating: Stainless Steel A2-70 G304 is the most popular grade of stainless steel. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and very practical because of its excellent corrosion protection in most environments. It is highly recommended to use Stainless Steel A4-70 G316 if the product is being used within 300 metres of the coast, in the food and chemical industry or within salt spray affected areas. Most products can be identified by the following markings: A2, A2-70, 304 or G304. Stainless steels are largely non-magnetic but it is not uncommon for stainless steel fasteners to show a small degree of magnetism. This is partly due to the work-hardening of the product during the manufacturing process
  • Can Stainless corrode?: Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant but not corrosion-proof and corrosion can occur if the material is installed or handled incorrectly. The use of tools and drills made from conventional steel during the installation of stainless steel fasteners may also lead to problems. Even the hardest of tools can produce debris that leaves minute steel particles on the stainless steel fastener surfaces or in pre-drilled holes. It is these particles that often rust when exposed to moisture or oxygen and can result in a stained or tarnished finish to the stainless steel material
