- 4 Hole Fixed Pin Butt Hinges are the most common type of hinge used on interior and exterior doors of homes and offices
- Benefits / Features: Supplied as a pair and comes with screws. Heavy duty quality. The hinge consist of two (2) leaves, each with screw holes and a pin
- Difference between loose pin and fix pin hinges: Loose pin hinges allow for the door to be removed without having to unscrewing the hinge from the door. Fixed pin hinges are used for external doors and cannot be separated unless unscrewing the hinge from the door. Fixed pin hinges offer better security over a loose pin hinge
- Material / Coating: Stainless Steel A2-70 G304 is the most popular grade of stainless steel. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and very practical because of its excellent corrosion protection in most environments. It is highly recommended to use Stainless Steel A4-70 G316 if the product is being used within 300 metres of the coast, in the food and chemical industry or within salt spray affected areas. Most products can be identified by the following markings: A2, A2-70, 304 or G304. Stainless steels are largely non-magnetic but it is not uncommon for stainless steel fasteners to show a small degree of magnetism. This is partly due to the work-hardening of the product during the manufacturing process
- Can Stainless corrode?: Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant but not corrosion-proof and corrosion can occur if the material is installed or handled incorrectly. The use of tools and drills made from conventional steel during the installation of stainless steel fasteners may also lead to problems. Even the hardest of tools can produce debris that leaves minute steel particles on the stainless steel fastener surfaces or in pre-drilled holes. It is these particles that often rust when exposed to moisture or oxygen and can result in a stained or tarnished finish to the stainless steel material
