- Flange head threaded wood Insert nutshave long teeth that dig deep into wood while being installed preventing turning or pull-out. This creates a very firm strong hold. Threaded inserts are primarily used in two situations. Either the screw has stripped the hole which means the insert will be installed to fix the hole or the user knows the screw will need to be installed and removed often and pre-emptively installs a Hex Drive Threaded Insert to prevent thread damage. Once installed, the insert has metal internal threading that can be continuously installed or removed from the insert without compromising the integrity
- Pilot Hole Recommendations: The data provided was based on testing on Soft Timbers
- MAY NOT BE SUITABLE IN HARDWOODS We have found we get mixed results in hardwoods due to the nature of timber with density and age. testing is required, trying a larger pilot hole or going up a size may be required
- Also known as: Hex Threaded Insert, Threaded Insert Nuts
- Material / Coating: Zinc Yellow plated refers to the colour of the chromate that is applied after zinc has been applied. Yellow chromate increases the overall protection of the finish. The coating is intended to be used internally as it only offers an average level of protection against corrosion
- Thread Pitch (Metric): is the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, nut or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
