- Alpha Screw Extractors are engineered to remove the toughest damaged fastener after the preparation of a pilot hole. The opposite direction flute enables the broken fastener to be gripped and wound out of the hole
- Features / Benefits:
- Reverse tapered flute for extra gripping power
- Spiral tapered flute for deep embedment which increases grip as the resistance increases
- Square end for use with tap wrench or spanner
- Directions for use:
1. Centre punch the broken fastener.
2. Create a pilot hole by drilling into the bolt or screw in reverse using the appropriate left hand drill size (see Matching Parts).
3. If required, drill the hole out larger with a left hand drill, as this may be enough to remove the fastener without a screw extractor.
4. Select the correct screw extractor size.
5. With a tap wrench or spanner turn the screw extractor into the hole in an anti-clockwise direction. Continue turning until the stud is removed - Cutting Fluid: When drilling into ferrous metals we recommend the use of a cutting fluid or compound to aid in the efficiency of the drill and to prolong its working life. We recommend Alpha CDT cutting fluid (Code ATL005)
