- Painted Top Grip Roofing Screws for fastening metal roof sheet to timber battens or other timber substrates. The Top Grip thread ensures a secure hold on sheeting and prevents dimpling. The Top Grip reduces the risk of over driving and maintains constant compression of the sealing washer which significantly reduces leaks and maintains sealing pressure even when the roofing profile is subjected to loading from foot traffic. The 5/16" sized Hex flanged head lends to high pull-out strength and the EPDM sealing washer (NEO) is for weather protection. The special long sharp self drilling point with a flute (Type 17) cuts the timber fibres as it is screwed in. Timber fibres are collected in the flute and reduce the potential for splitting. The self drilling type 17 point can also pierce light gauge steel up to 0.6mm without predrilling. The Top Grip threaded screws also come with upper shank protection the removes burrs that may damage the EPDM washer, and helps protect the galvanised coating on the upper thread. Galvanised Class 4 coating for excellent corrosion resistance in most areas of Australia.

- What does TPI stand for?: TPI stands for “threads per inch” which literally means the number of threads within each inch on a screw, a bolt, or a fastener. To determine the TPI of a screw, count the number of threads contained within an inch of length on the fastener. If the screw is less than an inch count ½” of an inch and multiply by 2
- How to measure the length of a Timber Screw: Fastener length is generally measured from the point where the surface of the material will be when the fastener is installed to the end of the fastener. Thus, fasteners with heads that sit above the surface are measured from under the head to the end of the fastener, while fasteners that sit flush with the surface are measured from the top of the head to the end of the fastener
